 About Us

The Virtual Congress was created by the people at the Virtual Education Project, Incorporated, a Florida based corporation.

At The Virtual Congress we believe many of our elected officials have a tendency to drift away from their campaign promises and do not for most of their term vote the will of the people in their districts.  As an election approaches, our Members of Congress tend to return to the center or to a position that is acceptable to their constituents. The Virtual Congress provides you with the tools to consistently monitor your elected officials and to speak out by participating in polls or by voting for a virtual candidate. Make your elected officials compliant 24/7/365, not just prior to an election.

The Virtual Congress provides information about Congress by bringing together several non-political sites in a single site and easy to access format.  The education section of the site covers areas related to the people who make up the Congress as well as the processes core to the work of the Congress.

Try out your campaign skills and the community’s acceptance of your positions on key issues facing the nation by running against a Member of Congress in The Virtual Congress.  You will have the opportunity to vote on key issues, develop a blog and podcasts, send and receive constituent emails, as well as compare and contrast your platform with the platform of your elected official.  You can propose virtual legislation and vote on key issues along side of your elected official.

At The Virtual Congress, we desire:

  1. A government more responsive to the citizens
  2. Citizens who are aware of the issues that face this nation
  3. Citizens who have the information to make educated decisions about key issues that face this nation
  4. Elected officials who vote consistently the will of their district.

Other sections of the site are:

The Town Square - Where information is shared through blogs, podcasts, etc. and where votes are conducted on key issues.

Why Wait Until 2008 - Where polls are conducted on the candidates who are in, maybe in, who will not yet commit to running for President.
