Issue: USA Patriot & Terrorism Prevention Reauthorization Act

Roving wiretaps and investigating terrorist through records and documents are central to the Patriot Act. The Act gives our professionals the tools needed to protect us from international terrorists who want to kill us. We know international terrorists exist and that the Patriot Act has improved our ability to track capture and detain them before they have the ability to affect another September 11th like attack. Proof of the success of the Act is the recent capture of a terrorist-planning cell in Great Britain days before initiating another heinous attack on the people of the United States.

Some people have gone to great lengths to fight against this Act and to declare it an infringement on the Rights of Americans. They have not delivered any support to their accusations but insist it is true. This is not the time or the place to allow unsubstantiated accusations to stop these legal efforts that protect our country and our people from others who do not follow any laws and whose only desire is to kill Americans.
